The various elements of the NBA All-Star Weekend continue to come together. The captains and starters for each conference have been announced, with reserves to follow on Thursday.

On Tuesday, the participants of the Jordan Rising Stars tournament 2023 were announced. The roster, selected by the NBA’s assistant coaches, includes 11 NBA rookies, 10 sophomores and seven G-League players.

Former NBA All-Stars Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Deron Williams will serve as coaches for the three NBA rising star teams, while Jason Terry, former sixth man of the year, will lead the G-League team.

The 21 NBA players (rookies and sophomores) are drafted by the above coaches into three seven-player teams, with the seven G-League players serving as the fourth team.

These four teams will go head-to-head in a three-game tournament on Friday, February 17 to kick off the All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City. The format, via NBA.com, will be as follows:

All three games are played to a final goal score, meaning the game ends with a shot or free throw instead of time running out.

The two semi-final games – Game 1 and Game 2 – will be played with a final target score of 40.

The final game with winners will be played to a final target value of 25 to determine the tournament winner.
