Inter and Manchester City go into Tuesday’s games as favorites, while Real Madrid look to eliminate Liverpool on Wednesday, while Napoli aim to do the same with Eintracht Frankfurt. After the conclusion of this round, the quarterfinals will take place from April 11th. Here are our predictions for each game and more:

A duel to watch: Liverpool fell apart in the first leg because Real Madrid found it too easy to drive through a midfield riddled with players who were either out of shape or too green for this toughest test. Since the 5-2 defeat Fabinhos Form has been on the up but then he crashed to the ground against Bournemouth as Liverpool were upset 1-0. Liverpool’s first priority has to be a clean sheet if it can disrupt the rhythm Luke Modric then maybe they might be able to keep this close.
Most likely to score: Another who preferred to freak out against Bournemouth Mohammed Salah had just gotten into shape after a 2022 that was rather disappointing by its staggering standards. He’s starting to find his best role alongside Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, and although he’s more of a creator than in the past, he emerged with plenty of punches in Manchester United’s hammering. In the big games he starts delivering again.
Man of the Match election: One senses that Liverpool could give something to believe, at least for a moment. No doubt they will put all sorts of pressure on the Madrid goal, but if Thibaut Courtois is a song between sticks, he could mean the difference between a big upset in the Champions League and a trip to the last eight for the defending champions.
Game Prediction: Against almost every other team on the field, there could be a compelling case for players blinking under the pressure and intensity Liverpool are expected to bring. But Real Madrid tend not to cave in and while there could be moments of serious stress, they should wait for a 2-1 defeat that means they reach the quarter-finals. – James Benge
Naples vs Eintracht Frankfurt

A duel to watch: Evan Ndicka vs. Hirving Lozano – This clash will be crucial as the defender has been one of the best players in the German team this season but will face Lozano who can create a lot of problems for the Frankfurt defense with his pace. Napoli’s attacking line is definitely a major threat for Frankfurt and Ndicka’s performance is the one to watch to understand how Wednesday’s game will go.
Most likely to score: Victor Osimhen – The Nigerian striker has already scored 21 goals in 27 games this season and also opened the scoring charts in the first leg in Germany. He has already proven that he can cause a lot of problems for the German defense and we should see something similar in the second leg at the Stadio Maradona.
Voted Man of the Match: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – Who else? Kvaradona, as they now call him in Naples, is the man of the hour as he scored another impressive goal against Atalanta on Saturday. He is the key player behind Napoli’s success this year and has already scored 11 goals in 22 games and provided 11 assists for his team-mates.
Game Prediction: Napoli should also make it pretty easy at home in the second leg and are definitely expected to win. Choose: Napoli 3, Concord 0. -Francesco Porzio
Manchester City versus RB Leipzig

A duel to watch: Phil Foden vs. Marcel Halsenberg – While Foden struggled against Crystal Palace at the weekend, he has been a spark plug for Manchester City since his return to the line-up. Even when he doesn’t score, Foden’s lack of fear means he’s direct and throwing attacks at opposing full-backs. With two goals and an assist in his last three games, Foden will give Pep Guardiola the opportunity to unlock an organized defense from RB Leipzig.
Most likely to score: Erling Haaland — Who else but Haaland can go here. When City need a goal, there’s no better place than the Norwegian shooter. With 33 goals in all competitions, Haaland is so close to averaging one goal per game and he could get closer to that mark by scoring the winner in the game. All Haaland needs is a touch to make things move. His influence is undeniable.
Voted Man of the Match: Rodri — He’s the metronome that keeps Manchester City ticking. It can be easy at times to forget that Rodri is on the pitch unless you’re the opponent trying to string together attacks. Sitting deep, Rodri is able to protect his defensive line while quickly converting defense into attack, having the vision to see what the best pass is to initiate a counterattack. Rodri is also capable of showing up for headers inside the box and keeping the defense honest by taking shots at goal from outside the box. Rodri is an integral part of what City does.
Game Prediction: Goals will be valued as teams enter the game at eye level. City know RB Leipzig will have no trouble finding them on the break if they’re not careful, but a goal from Haaland will be enough to end the game. Choose: Manchester City 1, RB Leipzig 0. -Chuck stand
FC Porto vs. Inter

A duel to watch: Pepe vs. Lautaro Martinez – This will clearly be one of the most important, if not the most important, match of this second leg. Portuguese defender Pepe has to contain Lautaro Martinez, which he did pretty well in the first leg at the San Siro. The Argentina striker is looking to react after a disappointing performance at Spezia when he missed a penalty in Inter’s 2-1 defeat by the home side.
Most likely to score: Romelu Lukaku – Big Rom already scored the decisive goal in the first leg three weeks ago but this time he is likely to have more space when the Nerazzurri attack as Porto need to win the game if they want to reach the quarter-finals. Especially in the second half, Lukaku’s pace can become one of the turning points of this duel.
Voted Man of the Match: Andre Onana – The Inter keeper is likely to be involved as Porto need to score twice and his saves can decide the final outcome of this second leg. He’s been one of the surprises of the season for this Nerazzurri team so far and he’s my pick for man of the match this time.
Game Prediction: While Porto need to win this game, I see Inter as strong contenders to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010, when they last won the Champions League under Jose Mourinho. Choose: Inter Milan 2, Porto 1 -Francesco Porzio
