With quarterbacks now passing more yards than ever before, NFL teams are hoping to find pass catchers who can instantly impact their offense. Both wide receiver and tight end have several promising prospects attending the 2023 NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Up to five or more such players could be included in the first round of the draft alone, including candidates such as TCU wideout Quentin Johnston, USC wideout Jordan Addison, Ohio State wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba and more among those considered a potential tag 1 forecast selection.

Below are all of the official measurements for the wide receivers and tight ends on the combine.

The central theses

  • The top wide receivers, with the exception of Quentin Johnston, are a very small group. None of Jordan Addison, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zay Flowers, Josh Downs or Jalin Hyatt was taller than 6-0 1/2, and none of them weighed more than 196 pounds. Both numbers were attributed to JSN, while Addison, Flowers and Downs all checked in 5-11 or shorter and weighed 182 or less.
  • The top tight ends, on the other hand, are enormous. Michael Mayer, Luke Musgrave, Dalton Kincaid and Darnell Washington all checked in at least 6-3 1/2 and 246 pounds. They all had big hands and long arms. They adapt the new prototype for the position.
  • West Virginia WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton became the third player since 2003 To measure at least 6-3, jump more than 40 inches vertical and run a 40-yard dash in under 4.40 seconds on the combine. The other two players: Seattle Seahawks stars DK Metcalf and Tariq Woolen.
  • LSU’s Kayshon Boutte was on the other end of the spectrum. He measured on the smaller side (5-11, 195) but only ran a 4.50 in the 40, jumped 29 inches in the vertical and had a long jump of 9’10”. Not the best performance for a player whose performance on the field also dropped in the last two years.
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s agility was exceptionally good. His 20-yard shuttle was the fourth-best among WRs at the combine since 2007 at 3.93 seconds, while his 6.57 three-cone was the 12th-best among WRs over the same period. both according to Underdog Fantasy. Simply put, the preeminent state of Ohio has an elitist shift in direction.
